Each oolong undergoes a unique semi-oxidation process, where whole leaves are carefully wilted in direct sunlight before the outer edges are gently 'bruised' to begin controlled oxidation. This meticulous technique creates teas with remarkable complexity – from lightly oxidised Chinese oolongs (15-20%) offering delicate, pale amber liquors, to richly oxidised Taiwanese varieties (60-70%) delivering deeper, more robust flavours.
Our collection spans from the legendary Big Red Robe with its distinctive smoky character and medicinal heritage, to the revered Iron Goddess of Mercy producing golden, nutty infusions. Experience the floral elegance of Formosa Oolong, the full-bodied richness of Tung Ting, and the creamy smoothness of Milky Oolong. We're also proud to feature Zealong – New Zealand's only locally grown 'true tea' – an organic premium oolong cultivated in Hamilton using traditional Taiwanese methods.
