Love this tea. Green, grassy and gorgeous. The only downside is the cost...

I prepared this tea as per the instructions above.
Upon completion, this tea had relatively little fragrance.
As others have also commented, the texture as it passed through the mouth / throat was indeed surprisingly smooth.
The flavour was rather grassy and as the description suggests 'nutty'. (I cannot 'personally' agree that is was 'sweet' though.)
The leaves can be reused a couple of times albeit the resulting beverage will have a much milder taste.
Note: Leaving ones cup sitting too long can lead to an astringent taste forming. aka, less talking more drinking! ;)

This green tea has ruined the taste of the regular green teas/sencha that I have around the house. You can clearly taste the difference and I don't think I'll ever go back to regular sencha even though I used to love it. This stuff is like popcorn green tea. More! More! More!

If you're put off by the strong astringent taste of sencha, but love green tea, this is the one to try without breaking the bank on hon gyokuro. I'll drink sencha too - but this is soooo smooth. I tried a sample pack and now I have gotten a 100g bag... this is heaven in a cup.

As I'm not the biggest "grassy" green tea fan, the subtle yet exquisite taste of the Gyokuro Kabuse is perfect for me. If brewed with a dash of cold water before the boiling water's added and steeped for 3mins precisely there is no bitterness - just the buttery taste of a perfect Japanese green tea. The taste strangely reminds me of edamame soy beans..? Too yum t leaf T, well played.
